Method 1: Measure an Existing Ring (Most Accurate)
- Choose a ring that already fits the intended finger well.
- Place it on a flat surface and measure the inside diameter in millimeters, using a ruler — measure from one inside edge straight across to the other.
- Match your measurement to the chart below.
Tip: If the ring has a wide band, measure across the narrowest point of the inside diameter for the most accurate result.
Method 2: String or Paper Strip Method
- Wrap a thin strip of string, thread, or paper around the base of the finger you’ll wear the ring on.
- Mark the point where the string overlaps to form a complete circle.
- Measure the length in millimeters with a ruler — this is your circumference.
- Match your measurement to the chart below.
Tips for accuracy:
- Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are typically at their largest.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers can shrink slightly in the cold.
- If you’re between sizes, we recommend sizing up.
- For knuckles that are noticeably larger than the base of the finger, measure both and consider a size that comfortably passes the knuckle.

Sizes shown are for standard band widths. Wider bands may fit slightly more snugly than the chart suggests — if your chosen piece has a wide band, we recommend sizing up by half a size.
Don’t Have a Way to Measure Right Now?
If you’re ordering as a surprise gift and can’t get an exact measurement, here are a few options:
- Borrow a ring they already wear on the intended finger (even briefly) and measure it using Method 1 above.
- Estimate based on average sizes: most women’s rings fall between US size 5–7, and most men’s rings fall between US size 8–11 — though this is only a rough guide.
- Order slightly larger: it’s easier and safer to resize a ring down than to stretch it back up.
